The Open Guard consists of high school & college age members.

Rehearsal Dress Code:
The staff asks that everyone wear black dancewear. As the weather gets colder, layer your clothes. The staff needs to see your body. Your hair should be secured back from your face. Footwear will depend on the rehearsal site. You should always have athletic tennis shoes with you. Dance shoes, socks or dance barefooted are the other options.

There will be equipment available for your use at the audition. If you have your own weapons it would be helpful to bring those with you in case we do not have enough.

Rehearsals and Performances

Most rehearsals take place at Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church (map) or Benicia High School.

You, the returning members are our best source of new members. Encourage new members to attend or get names and addresses to me and I will put them on the mailing list. No experience is required for the guard membership. All we ask is that you come with good attitude and a willingness to learn.
