I marched in the Blue Devils in 1991. Then went on to get a bachelors degree from Morehead State University and a masters in music education from the University of North Texas. From 1996-2016, I worked in music education. The first 7 years was at Lewisville High School where I was responsible for all of the percussion activities. Then moved to Grapevine High School for 9 years where I was a band director, responsible for the percussion activities, and taught music theory, music history, jazz band, and the musical. Then moved to Texas A & M Commerce for 4 years, where I served as an adjunct percussion professor.
I taught the Dutch Boy in 1993, Phantom Regiment 1995-1997, The Glassmen 1998-1999 and the Crossmen 2000-2001. Then did Judge training in 2002. From 2003- 2015, I served as a music/percussion judge for DCI. Have also judged BOA and currently judge WGI. When my son began marching, I stopped judging DCI and BOA for conflict of interest issues.
I currently am enjoying a second career in real estate in the Dallas Ft. Worth area, where I am married to my Blue Devils sweetheart and color guard captain, Leah Schuth.
