Oscar Ortiz

Oscar Ortiz is currently attending the University of Texas at El Paso for a bachelors degree in Music Educaion. He has been apart of Drum Corps International since 2009, marching for Memphis Sound, 2010-2011 for the Blue Knights and 2012 for The Academy. For his final year in 2013 Oscar Ortiz was a member of Carolina Crown, which received their first World Championship and had the distinct honor of having a perfect Brass score. In 2016 Oscar traveled Europe and performed at the Basel Tattoo with the Blue Devils International Corps. Oscar is one of the leaders in marching bands in El Paso and has taught in multiple award winning high schools and at the College level in the area. Oscar has also performed with major ensembles including the El Paso Wind Symphony, The El Paso Symphony Orchestra and The Orquesta Sinfónica de Juárez. Continuing his love for music, he is also part of the nationally recognized Music fraternity, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He is currently the brass caption head for Western Vanguard Drum and Bugle corps from Odessa Tx.
