Blue Devils Announce Summer Schedule
Concord, CA - February 15, 2001 - The 10 time World
Champion Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps based in Concord announce two US
Tours for the year 2001. On June 20 The Blue Devils will embark on their first
of two Summer Music Games Tours. The Blue Devils depart San Francisco International
Airport arriving in Atlanta’s, Hartsfield International Airport where they
will be met by 4 motor coaches, 2 equipment transporters and 3 support vehicles
to begin the 16 day, 2500 mile, 11 city tour.
One Show - 3 World Champions
Highlights of the tour will include appearances in Orlando, Fl, Columbia,SC,
Washington DC, Philadelphia, PA, Boston, MA and Bristol, RI.
During the tour The Blue Devils will perform in field competitions, concerts
and parades. 2001 will mark The Blue Devils’ return to Franklin Field in
Philadelphia, PA where they captured their first of ten World Championship in
1976. 2001 will also mark their second appearance in America’s oldest continuously
staged 4th of July Parade, held in Bristol, Rhode Island.
Upon their return, the Blue Devils will present a Benefit Celebration on
Saturday July 7. The day begins with a concert at the Walnut Creek Center for
the Performing Arts, and concludes with a field competition at Viking Field
on the campus of Diablo Valley College. Joining the Blue Devils for this special
event will be the 8 time World Champion Cadets of Bergenfield, New Jersey. This
historic visit is only the second California appearance of the Cadets in their
67 year history, and their first in Northern California. Also competing in Precision
West will be the 6 time World Champion Vanguard from Santa Clara, California
and the Blue Knights of Denver, Colorado.

Following Precision West the Blue Devils will begin their second United States
tour with four appearances in Southern California. This 33 day tour will cover
over 15,000 miles through 18 states with 19 performances. The culmination of
the second tour will be the World Championships being held at Ralph Wilson Stadium
in Buffalo, NY.
